It's not clear if Binance has managed to stop the bleeding yet. If the drain is ongoing, the attacker will likely shift away from Tether/USDC to cash out, knowing that those companies are already actively freezing.

Arkham is putting the Binance hack at nearly $6B by now, though note that this is likely overestimating — some of these wallets may be unrelated. It also doesn't account for the fact that at least $2.3B has been frozen by Tether/USDC.

Congrats to the cybercriminal who just stole from a money launderer. From what I can tell, they managed to get around $400 million out before Tether froze the wallets, and there was collateral damage of $600 million in forced liquidations from price spikes. That's a lot of "my apes are gone."

Congrats to the cybercriminal who just stole from a money launderer. From what I can tell, they managed to get around $400 million out before Tether froze the wallets, and there was collateral damage of $600 million in forced liquidations from price spikes. That's a lot of "my apes are gone."
