Day 11/20

Lots of books are comforting now. Others have listed many. I liked listening to S short short story by @rebeccamakkai that she started writing in an airport! It was so good. Next up for me: having just seen the movie Philadelphia again / #thegreatbelievers.

I was supposed to be writing this weekend. I was supposed to be productive. And then, for whatever (unknown) reason, I decided to start reading #TheGreatBelievers sooo, thank you @rebeccamakkai.bsky.social for “ruining” my weekend with your brilliant novel. *whispers* thank you for writing it! 💕

would love to get suggestions from writers/ readers:
Please tell me an example of a book that used "alternating narratives" (each in a different time period, from the POV of a different narrator, whether told in first person or close third, etc). @rebeccamakkai #thegreatbelievers

REALLY enjoying 1) finishing #thegreatbelievers by @rebeccamakkai 2) the article below 3) moment at @BKBF where right before her own event she congratulated me for being Debut/ Main stage for #whitedancingelephants. ❣️ Kindness = memorable. Lasting....

Just started this book and already know it’s gunna slap bc of Rebecca Makkai’s commentary that people who use poppers for anything that isn’t sex are the most chaotic #TheGreatBelievers

Just finished #TheGreatBelievers by @rebeccamakkai. It is only February, but I won’t be surprised if I don’t read a better novel this year. It’s a deeply moving book.
