Good progress towards #TheWinter10 on today’s walk. Strangest find so far, though, is this pair of oyster shells resting in the roots of an oak tree, at least 15m from the nearest coast - would a gull, say, carry one so far to then crack open?

Keen to notch up a Perfect 10 (Beautiful South earworm 😅) I walked a nearby verge, wedged between road and reedbed.

I hoped to get #thewinter10 but delighted to find 21 species in flower in just 250m.

Particularly pleased to see Water Chickweed, Fleabane and lots of Self-heal. 🌸
