#thirdvoiceparty
#thirdvoiceparty it’s the people (and pets) that make the place, truly. This was a lovely watch!

#thirdvoiceparty this theme of humanity and life shows up at multiple points throughout the film- it’s the people walking in droves that adds life and movement to the colorless Sidewalks. It’s the springy playground thing that adds a childlike wonder to the background of the apartment building.

#thirdvoiceparty there WAS dancing in this film (understood the assignment). Caught me by surprise and I thoroughly enjoyed it! There is such a spirit that runs throughout the film. I love the bursts of color that contrast the mostly grey architecture.

#thirdvoiceparty overall, this film emphasizes the innate imperfection of the human experience, and the pervasiveness of the pressure to perform and appear productive in this current day and age.

#thirdvoiceparty - this voice. I also liked the simplicity and narrowness of the video. the fact that it has a corner missing also contributes to the guilty and uncertain feeling of stress that permeates the film.

#thirdvoiceparty i enjoyed watching this film! while watching, a feeling that stuck with me was one that contrasts productivity, a performance, with a much less put-together reality. The Starbucks, the canvas open, contrasted with the all-too-familiar doomscrolling was a revealing way to achieve -

#thirdvoiceparty the author’s voice is lightly colored by frustration, longing, and regret. Overall, this piece was fascinating to watch, I admit i still don’t fully know how to interpret its meaning. But I nonetheless sense that third voice permeating

#thirdvoiceparty the imperfections and messiness of their room, I feel like that echoes the overarching motif of the film. The jarring bits of reality, juxtaposed against the comfortable and the routine. I also really enjoyed how the title works its way into the film as well- fragments. Sharp edges

#thirdvoiceparty I just feel viscerally uncomfortable watching this film- in a good way:) the continual scratching noise, the hospital beeping, the water dripping in the audio contrast with the nostalgic camera footage of driving through a snowy town. When the audio says the speaker suddenly notices

#thirdvoiceparty experiencing moments of blankness and pause that interrupt the characteristically rehearsed process of acting. Being perceived induces that same element of fear, and cuts through the smoothness of habit with the realness and imperfection of filler words and nervous body language

#thirdvoiceparty I also like the addition of the art pieces on the wall- there’s a constant feeling of viewing and judging in this piece. i am also a huge fan of the cat! The footage of the deer staring at the passing car reinforces the feeling of surveillance and being a “deer in headlights”-

#thirdvoiceparty I like how this piece has evolved in subtle but substantial ways! overall, I’m getting a vibe of perception and interrogation- the small video crop focused on the torso increases the perception of body language, the premise of an interview only contributes to that feeling more.

#thirdvoiceparty video, I also enjoy the simplicity, directionality, and muted quality of the repeated action. It allows the viewer to concentrate on form, motion, and constancy. overall a really intriguing piece that I still don’t have all the answers for- a cryptic third voice is definitely there.

#thirdvoiceparty between the video and audio. within the audio, I really like how the repeated beeps and loud thuds of the soundtrack feel like jolts in a meditative and predictable sequence. It does feel like language is trailing behind the natural and unspoken course of events. In regards to the

#thirdvoiceparty ”clocks don’t say sorry”- very poetic! I love how this piece achieves a purposeful friction between thoughts, words, and actions. It suggests that there is almost a universal predetermination of even the most minute sequence of actions. i also particularly appreciate the dissonance-

#thirdvoiceparty -appearance of the hand holding the knife. when the crucifix is shown later on, interrupted by the knife visual, i see the filmmaker experiencing the trials of regret and self-realization in an almost spiritual way= this feeling is reinforced by the natural and supernatural imagery

#thirdvoiceparty the evolution from restless, unsettling fire to calm, soothing rain is also more evident in this version of the film! I could appreciate the trajectory and emergence of third voice especially because of this transition! also, the narrative is disrupted by the repeated, abrupt-

#thirdvoiceparty having watched this film in a previous version, I like the unnerving addition of the whispers that complicate the singular voice narrating the film. i also liked the uncomfortable actions of holding the sharp end of the knife, and using a really blunt pencil to scribble on paper

#thirdvoiceparty i particularly enjoyed the ending of this film- although it didn't feel right as per the rules of what a conventional origami folding video should look like in my childhood memory, the unfolding and the persistence of the creasing speaks to how feeling leaves marks

#thirdvoiceparty around 2:10, reflecting on your discussion of repairing the broken sink, I enjoyed the tension between audio and video where you talk about understanding less after hearing more, and where I see the paper, folded and tired, not resolving back to its original state.
August 18, 2026 at 10:53 PM
#thirdvoiceparty to start, I really love how introspective and echoey/trippy this audio is, contrasted with the methodically slow folding of the paper. It really reminds me of how anxiety can ripple and distort, giving its own flavor to communication, similar to how the paper is getting creased.

#thirdvoiceparty the verbal track talks about losing hair to one of her aunts, which was paired with a plant that’s spiked and different from the others. The use of visual and verbal tracks gave us an emotions to feel without actually stating them

#thirdvoiceparty I love that the plants truly do give the idea that that’s the hair we are talking about in the film. It’s such a good reference especially since plants and hair do have a lot of similarities, The way it can grow and transform into something beautiful

#thirdvoiceparty the ending was the icing on the cake and the part where the film took a turn for sure. it showed the difference between life with and without meaning, it’s better to just live your life with hope
August 13, 2026 at 2:13 PM
#thirdvoiceparty the visual told me that life truly can be pointless. A world that doesn’t always need to be perfect or filled with glory and hope
