DAY 22. THRIPS - FARMER
ME: Beautiful houseplants.
FRIEND: Thanks, it's a lot of work. We're fighting off thrips.
ME: Thrips?
FRIEND: Little insect pests. They're a real bitch to get rid of.
ME: Oh, right. Thrips. Yeah, I know them. I actually had thrips of the dick.
MY FULL-TIME NURSE: He did not have thrips of the dick.

Oncidium (Dancing Lady) orchid went into bloom. Been fighting thrips for the last nine months but things are looking better I think

I tried incorporating lack of black spot, midge, thrips and sawfly larvae but they are mood killers.

when I worked for department on agriculture I spent hours and hours looking at samples of this stupid ornamental plant called Rocktrumpet/Mandevilla that is just a thrips magnet and spreads non-native thrips everywhere with its convenient thrips clubhouse flowers. do me a solid and don't buy these

Phlaeothripidae, silly little ant mimic thrips with a curly booty. One of those creatures I'll find roaming amongst trailing black ants for reasons that remain unclear. ~2mm or so

One thrips is a thrips; multiple thrips are also thrips. In some species, males battle over females. Plus, they may eat your flowers. So, behaviorially and etymologically, thrips are basically deer. However, unlike deer, some thrips are plant-helping predators. So they're not identical. 🐙 🌿 🦌

my large beautiful monstera has had mealybugs, spider mites, thrips, and now scale. it looks fine but randomly stops growing every few months and it's always some new shit
