I can't remember if I already knew this but TILPA (Today I Learned Probably Again) that the Uruguayan writer Juan Carlos Onetti's great-grandfather was a Scot or Irishman born in Gibraltar whose surname was O'Nety, who moved to Uruguay and his son Italianised the surname.

When we arrived at Tilpa Pub and I walked out the back to see the Darling River, I really felt like I'm on my way back home. Maybe it's because I've rowed on the Darling, maybe it's the trees, maybe it's because the Darling flows to the Murray and I've spent lots of time there. No matter: home soon.

The roads improved, was there in March and visited Tilpa, White Cliffs, Cobar and Brewarrina, it was 48 degrees in White Cliffs.
