FYI: BunsenLabs Carbon swaps tint2 for Xfce panel in Debian 13 update
It taught me how to solve my own problems at least, kids never have to encounter that kind of friction with technology now. I ran crunchbang for a good while, the combo of openbox, tint2, and dmenu was so nice.

makes sense! i had an openbox/tint2 config that i used for years even though it kind of sucked because it took dozens of hours to set up just how i liked it

i was running Mint with Xfce on a 2010 Atom CPU netbook, and it was still a little much for it, ended up putting just debian with just x and openbox (and tint2)

My setup is a bit more boring these days, but for several years my taskbar/panel was a clone of tint2 that I had written myself in Haskell with the vague (and objectively bad) idea to integrate it into Xmonad at some point

ノートで使っていたconkyやらtint2の設定ファイルを家のデスクトップに持ってきたら、これがまた快適で……。
もう13インチの古ノートPCにLinux突っ込んでこき使うことはできても、老眼がそれを許さないのだなぁと、思い知る朝ですよ。
いつまでこうして老いを噛み締め続けることになるのだろうか、こうなると死ぬまで？

I guess Im old, but while KDE is so beautiful, its so proc and mem footprint heavy. #OpenBox with #Tint2,#Rofi, and a few others. I try to keep my tiles uncluttered too. (I am perhaps obsessive a tad)

It's the fastest ever WM that's not tiling.
One time when I used the same distro, I managed to have my desktop use only around 90MB of RAM with Openbox, Nitrogen (for the wallpaper), and Tint2 (for the panel).

I don't have a ncmpcpp "widget" replacement, but I moved it to a shortcut, and I use KAgenda for the anime of the week list. Krunner replaces rofi
I'm pissed that I don't have minimize and raise with the scroll wheel on the taskbar, my favorite feature of tint2, but I can learn to live with that

I've always liked Mabox. It was just two beats downstream from Arch tho. So, I got Arch now instead. I guess I can always take some of those fun apps, like tint2 for my topbar...
