Yeah, I think ima follow the advice of a few people on here and just reopen my patreon and start a substar.
I'll probably upload some timelapses and sketches there on things i'm workin on but for the most part i'm just softlaunching them as tipjars.

you order at a kiosk, sometimes an unstaffed one. You are handed a buzzer. You find your own seat. When the buzzer rings you go to a window where your food sits. You bus your own table.
And yet, there are still tipjars out and I don't know if the three people actually working get the tip or not

Panera Bread is a great example. It used to be a great Third Space. The food was good, and the place was always packed. Now it has all the coziness of a UPS store, the menu has shrunk, prices have gone way up, and the food is microwaved hospital cafeteria fare.

Just saying:
>If you see blatantly horrid racism, dont dunk:
⭐Go find your fav BIPOC artists & reskeet their art
>If you see raging transphobia, dont dunk:
✨Go find some trans creators & follow them
>If you see troll hatred towards minorities, dont dunk:
🌠Go & donate to minorities' gofundmes/tipjars

Right now there's a lot of edgy right-wing shitposter types on twitter scoffing at bluesky and betting that everyone will be back in a day. They're scared. They're betting on everyone craving the senseless PVP bloodbath of twitter.
But they're wrong. People have had enough.

since this apparently makes bad cis allies rly mad, i'll take my opportunity to hop on the wagon:
if you talk the talk and don't walk the walk, you're not our ally. yes that includes giving to nonprofits if you don't match that with donations to individual GFMs/patreons/tipjars

lowkey tempted to revive one of my old streaming tipjars like my kofi or drop my "business" paypal or put things on my throne again for the sentimental types who get excited about celebrating life events like this, but given i do not have ANY need for it i'm concerned it'll come off as entitled LOL

I tip more generously but I go to restaurants FAR less often than pre-pandemic
But I do wish we could restructure how waiters get paid and do away with most tipping culture, especially the stuff like the ubiquitous tipjars and the self-service screen tip requests

Pre pandemic, 20% was the floor, since it started I've mostly stuck to 20-30%.
I guess the new norm of "service workers were hardest hit by the pandemic, we owe them more" was something I imagined

New Pew survey on tipping culture finds that a majority of Americans tip 15% or less on a sit-down meal. www.pewresearch.org/2023/11/09/t...
