Panera Bread is a great example. It used to be a great Third Space. The food was good, and the place was always packed. Now it has all the coziness of a UPS store, the menu has shrunk, prices have gone way up, and the food is microwaved hospital cafeteria fare.

lowkey tempted to revive one of my old streaming tipjars like my kofi or drop my "business" paypal or put things on my throne again for the sentimental types who get excited about celebrating life events like this, but given i do not have ANY need for it i'm concerned it'll come off as entitled LOL

I've been considering prioritizing Patreon over Substack... I prefer the discoverability of Substack but I hate the nazi problem. And both are gross with the fees. 😮💨 why is this stuff so difficult? They're glorified tipjars anyway, I dont paywall my short stories.

Also "When fanfic is sold for profit" part that counts for making any money at all from it. Even if you don't make back the cost of production, the fact that someone paid money for it at all gets counted as "profit". It's why AO3 is so aggressive against tipjars, cause they could count as "profit".
