I’ve said this for years: Too many white people find Trump’s racism titillating, but not disqualifying.
Too many liberals may hate his delivery and brashness but he still represents a social order with white men at the top. Which they believe in and also want to preserve.

A genuinely dispiriting thing about covering sexual violence is how often the suffering of women and children is metabolized as political point-scoring or titillating entertainment.
one lesser awful thing about the Epstein files is that genuine crimes against a huge number of children are being morphed into fuel for the influencer industrial complex who don't care about truth or accuracy and just want grist for the content mills

Is it just me, or are boobs getting bigger? In the last year, 4 of my friends got measured & are all enormous. (Cups, not back sizes.) I got measured & I’m 3 cup sizes bigger than I thought I was!!

I keep telling people about how the Christian "Left Behind" books, literal fantasies about the apocalypse, were super, super popular in the late 90s/ early 2000s. I used to read them.
Major disasters, while terrible, were also framed by evangelical churches as titillating...sexy almost.

Certain kinds of smart people tend to have a "sexy apocalypse" problem when it comes to thinking about risk. E.g. skynet turning everyone in paperclips, while bad, is also *kind of cool and fun* at the same time. Where the reality is that most actual disasters are both stupid and disappointing.
