Oh yeah. Toolmaker: bsky.app/profile/raha...
Then, there's a "toolmakers" category totally off to the side and not on the matrix, of people who are building the systems, accounts, networks, etc, that will eventually enable one of these efforts, not doing the efforts themselves. Sometimes users won't ever notice it, sometimes they will.

“I’m from Manchester” is Burnham’s “my dad was a toolmaker”
This isn't the worst idea in the world, but Burnham could probably do with someone in his ear telling him that most people outside of Manchester either don't give a fuck about Manchester, or actually kind of dislike it so basing his entire brand on, "I'm from there!" isn't a slam dunk.
FT exclusive: Andy Burnham is looking to set up a 'Number 10 in the north', moving part of his prime ministerial operation to Manchester, in a radical attempt to shift power beyond Westminster ft.trib.al/49mgac4

Clearly despite the jokes very few people actually know that Starmer’s dad was a toolmaker
Absolutely fascinating polling by @christabelcoops.bsky.social @thinklabour.bsky.social. Says a lot about the (mis)perceptions of voters - and the cues they use to evaluate the social background of politicians.
