I'm really surprised by the lack of front coupler on the Trackmobile. When you said that milling is required to install a functional coupler, do you mean it could be done with some careful use of a Dremel tool or would it require an actual milling machine?

That area is really good for taking photos of trains. There are no obstacles, so you can get very wide shots and, with the right light you get those nice reflections! Here are some shots I took over the years.

You know, most of the prototype trackmobiles I've seen have been half-width cabs, unlike the full-width cab version that you always see the models of. In fact, just about the only time I've seen the full-width cab was www.youtube.com/watch?v=22_g...

But I guess the trackmobile company were justifiably proud about landing a big big gig with their little dinky rail car movers and my God the editing is on another level. It feels like it's from an entirely different era of editing flavor

Honestly good for Trackmobile, I believe NASA used a handful of different locomotives (the younger ones being from the 70s and the older ones dating back to the 50s) to do this stuff so ig it makes more sense to just use these

I took a very nice day trip, saw lots of trains, and found a perfect industry to build a layout of. It's the Ardent Mills complex in Hastings MN, the first flour mill in MN, and one of the last survivors.

In keeping with Mercedes-built vehicles, a Smart switcher would be funny.
I'm trying to imagine an American equivalent though. PT Cruiser is easy but unimaginative. Maybe a Craftsman Riding Lawnmower setup like a Trackmobile.
