when 2 further terms after transmisandry (transandrophobia, antitransmasculinity) seem to also have been rejected by people who aren't transmasc, you do eventually have to catch on that someone's taking advantage of ur goodwill

The language that we have was never designed to include trans people, therefore the language that we're building will be full of misnomers--and pointing out misnomers is fine (re, I have done this towards the term transmisandry) but it's also important to understand--

Like, to be bold--if a trans guy uses the term transmisandry to talk about the same shit I use antitransmasculinity to describe, I'm still gonna listen to and empathize with him, and point out a term I think is better suited...at a time where I wouldn't ostensibly be telling him to shut up 👍

If I can be conspiratorial, constantly forcing descriptions of hatred of trans men to be wordier and wordier (transmisandry > transandrophobia > antitransmasculinity etc) still seems like a bid to shut up transmascs because much of this conversation is going on on sites with character limits

the article in question is engaging in a very specific kind of transmisandry which i feel like needs calling out for what it is. these are adult men or adult nb people being spoken about, not 'girls'. we are broodmares to them, and child broodmares at that. it's disgusting

The word transandrophobia has existed for years, people complain about it almost as much as they complain about transmisandry as a term, because frankly some people just aren't comfortable with trans guys talking about our own unique struggles regardless of term.

Also when people try to find examples of 'Transmisandry' they are actually usually thinking of Transemasculation which is an actual thing that exists because Emasculation is a real thing that exists unlike Misandry

My personal frustration is that “transandrophobia” or “transmisandry” ends up being talked about as a novel, unique harm or a type of male-oriented misogyny that is magically unlike emasculation and degendering of nontrans queer men or disabled men or racialised/minoritised men

If you had any skill at reading comprehension at all the criticism is about how "transmisandry" (or my preferred term, antitransmasculinity) is perfectly coherent because manhood being a necessary component to an axis of oppression is something Serano herself did with effemania.

It's interesting because when transmascs try to coin "transmisandry" "transandrophobia" "antitransmasculinity" it is not a statement about "who has it worse" but rather an epistemological tool to undercut this specific cycle, which I think Whipping Girl has reinforced but is not the sole progenitor
