I wish Sophie Cunningham luck with the soft launch of her post-WNBA RW influencer career. There's money to be made. Like everyone, she has a right to express her opinions. But implying trans people pose a danger to children is quite sick and refuted by data that cis men pose exponentially more risk.

Josh Turek in Iowa now takes the strongest anti-trans stance of any Democrat yet.

“Josh opposes taxpayer-funded sex changes, and anyone who says otherwise is lying,” said Hannah Goss, a spokeswoman for the Turek campaign.

This would include Medicaid and adult care.

This is anti-vaxx logic. It is not "naive" to accept the conclusions of experts in technical fields.
The science doesn’t seem so settled after all, and it’s important to understand what happened here. The approach of left-of-center Americans and our institutions — to assume that when a scientific organization releases a “policy statement” on a hot-button issue, that the policy statement must be accurate — is a deeply naïve understanding of science, human nature and politics, and how they intersect. At a time when more and more Americans are turning away from expert authority in favor of YouTube quacks and their ilk — and when our own government is pushing scientifically baseless policies on childhood vaccination and climate change — it’s vital that the organizations that represent mainstream science be open, honest and transparent about politically charged issues. If they aren’t, there’s simply no good reason to trust them.

The Kansas Republican Party attempted to use a new state law requiring driver's license to only list sex at birth to invalidate the voter registration and candidacy of a transgender woman running against a Republican for a state House seat. They were rebuffed by the Secretary of State.
