If listeners should expect anything from X-Men related episodes of Chromium, it's that Matt really doesn't know anything about the X-Men family - but does that stop him from constantly interrupting and talking over Bobby (the actual expert on the topic)? Nope, not at all. In fact, he does it more than usual. There's a reason the episode clocks in at just over three hours. That reason's name is Matt. While Bobby, ever the consummate podcast pro, stays laser focused on expressing his love for GENERATION X and making sure that the listeners actually learn things about the characters and storyline, Matt makes a clumsy pitch for paying subscribers and recalls a time he was derisively called "gen x" by an elderly man in a grocery store. But it's cool because both Bobby and Matt agree that Gavin Rossdale would've killed it as Chamber in a movie and more importantly that people need to stop making fun of them for thinking that Bush is a pretty awesome band. On this episode Matt and special guest co-host Bobby Trippett (from the GRINDBIN PODCAST) have been where the river ran and avoided drownin' in a sunless sea in order to discuss 1991's NIGHTMARES ON ELM STREET #1. Is this episode about the man of our dreams Freddy Krueger? Yes it is. Eventually. First Matt gets very personal and tells the story of when he first met his wife and why the date June 13th holds a special place in his heart. It's a sweet story that has all of the necessary ingredients (a Pinky and the Brain t-shirt, the somewhat remembered Ivan Reitman movie SIX DAYS, SEVEN NIGHTS, the band Stabbing Westward, a weekend pass to Wizard World Chicago 1998, and HALLOWEEN H20) to create a love that lasts a lifetime. But then it's time to do the Freddy -- and there is no better person than Bobby to do the Freddy. That's not an innuendo. It's a fact. Bobby's a true Fredhead, a Dream Warrior, possibly even a Dream Master and he expertly navigates us through this rather insane comic. This episode is so great that Matt only briefly mentions Night Man (who, by the way, could totally kick Freddy's ass).
