Here is a tiny tulwar! I was inspired after a visit to the royal armouries museum to try remaking a few Indian weapons, but the craftsmanship on many of them is so detailed that it’s hard to find plainer examples that I can manage!

we have a +0 tulwar (2d4) and boots and that's it.
yikes. attacked by a crow at the entrance to the dungeon! that could have easily been fatal, but 3 magic missiles took it down.

I've seen games with pages and pages of weapon stats when, really, it doesn't matter if you get hacked at with a tulwar or a broadsword. Stabbed is stabbed.

Lemme just tell you Indian Martial Arts is just friggin rad in general. It the Tulwar, Chakram, and Katar weren't cool enough.

A before and after photo of a recent clean-up of an antique Indian 'tulwar' sword. This example was probably from the 1700s and was covered in thick sheet silver. It was meticulously cleaned and sealed with microcrystalline wax.

Generally speaking, sword classifications use the local term, despite that often just being their word for "sword". We define the shamshir, tulwar, saif, jian, katana, etc as specific swords, but every single one of those words just means "sword" in their respective languages. In the same way,
