#underdelivery
Underdelivery plus over-redaction.

During budget crunches, governments find the money to fund what is valued, so I guess what's valued here is checking a box, not delivering transformative transportation projects for a city that has long been undervalued, underappreciated, and the frequent victim of overpromises and underdelivery.

(And is actually tangential fight CEC are facing without realising it, because it's not about the Tram, it's about decades of weak leadership, tussling and underdelivery).

Hot air: Carbon removals risk high costs and underdelivery in the UK | Ember
Rushing to invest in carbon removal projects will come at a high cost and risks overreliance on technologies that are currently unproven.

Actually, that would hit Fox hard, too. Underdelivery on viewership would likely put them on the hook for “makegoods”, running future ads for free to make up the difference.

My Volvo doesn't decide to irreversibly lock its doors after driving itself into a lake with me inside.

Nor does my GM. Or any vehicle I've ever owned.

Shoddy construction, endless recalls, delays, overpromise/underdelivery, etc. are enough for me. Nevermind they're Nazified coffins on wheels.

Holtec built an empire around mothballed nuclear power plants and incomplete nuclear initiatives. The firm's history of overpromising and under-delivery raises a question: Is this who we should trust with the future of #nuclear energy?

This BBC piece reads more like promotional material than critical journalism, recycling official projections without scrutinising the established pattern of underdelivery or examining the democratic accountability concerns my extensive research into free zones detail.

The overpromising is complete and only the underdelivery remains

An investigative report exposes Holtec’s stalled reactor plans, past misconduct, and pattern of unfulfilled promises. With Holtec overseeing San Onofre’s waste, experts warn that weak oversight risks leaving 8.4M Californians vulnerable to preventable failures.

It's crazy how turning off the FOMO underdelivery treadmill produced one of the best updates the game has seen in years and made it feel actually decent to play again.
The biggest obstacle to your fun will still always be other players though, they can't fix that.

Now having properly read; really good peice and I think the points around the self-pepetuating nature of underdelivery + resistance to development (and a tendancy to put the perfect above the good) are well made.

Marvin tried to crash through this - and I think we see some of the fruits of this...

There's two ends on the banality of evil, and that dead-eyed little shit is very firmly on the banal end of it.

Of course, an ecosystem that over-rewards half-assed underdelivery that enables it all, but then I just get into my "Liz Holmes just picked the wrong marks" form rant...

And while the government's clumsy attempts at appeasement and underdelivery are certainly not helpful, the main drivers for that are Musk's ownership of X and Trump administration's win and "policy example" in the US.

😂 I just checked and the original long rant about the overpromise and underdelivery of self-driving cars was in the end replaced with a shorter outburst about Ireland being impossible to traverse without your own transport.

You’ll often hear execs excuse underdelivery by saying they “set ambitious targets”. In fact it’s an admission that they hope their external marketing can make up for their failure to provide any internal leadership or motivation.
Every product team talks a big game about their future-facing roadmap. But ask to compare last year's roadmap to last year's releases, and they'll mutter some excuses.

Promising the world is easy; delivering on promises is the challenge. OpenAI promised AGI, and delivered an incremental update.
My prediction is that

-the critics will spend the next few months noting that GPT5 doesn’t come close to the capabilities that its boosters spent two years insisting were imminent.

-the boosters will focus on how GPT5 is better than 4, and insist everyone should shut up and applaud.

I'm gonna give it a fair shot in June.

But it's the last one I'm giving them. I can't take this cycle of underdelivery, followed by silence, followed by an apology and a present. I've been in an abusive relationship like that IRL, man.

tbh i just dislike tesla for obvious reasons - mediocre build quality, underdelivery of production models of their concepts like the roadster, bad interior design, aging model lineup, but most importantly - musky being absolute dickhead.

Performancewise the cars are solid but thats all of positives

They whip people up into a genocidal frenzy, only to then try to ban the Henry Ford Foundation

This is… pathetic, actually

This is EXACTLY the kind of milquetoast underdelivery I expect from JD Vance

I hope Stephen Miller is weeping. He wants a 4th Reich, but he’s got the Mickey Mouse Club
