I don't like Alice layout (prefer staggered) but should try out the Keychron B11 if only for the split space. Unibody folder version of like a Mac keyboard.

Surely all the Big Tough Truck Guys will flock to the unibody pickup with the small bed and no towing capacity, right?

Bonus points if you crack the cast aluminum unibody frame

we need a word for these unibody vehicles with four doors and a tiny bed in the back because "truck" no longer really applies

MAD IDEA: is the time ripe for a kickstarter for a new portable manual typewriter? Ultra low profile, unibody aluminium, ribbon in a re-inkable cassette for easy loading?

Modern machining tolerances mean we *ought to* be able to make a vastly superior typing experience today.
I taught myself to type when I was 12, the better to write up D&D campaigns (maps aside). That first lightweight manual typewriter lasted 3-4 years before it needed replacing. It kept needing repairs—the rods connecting keys to type arms snapped due to metal fatigue.

It’s probably totaled for insurance purposes.

You might be able to find a junkyard hatch and doors to keep it on the road, though the unibody is structurally compromised from the pillar damage.

Speaker comparison: 2008 17" pre-Unibody MacBook Pro vs 2011 17" Unibody MacBook Pro

They ruined the speakers with the newer one... how?

None. We have enough.
The reason why they all switched to unibody is because for the 99% of the time they're on the road, BOF SUVs suck.

It compares three types of structural design choices and their manufacturing consequences:

1. Monocoque

2. Frame on Body

3. Unibody

Like, they clearly don’t want to make anything that isn’t an F-150 based thing. Their Unibody SUVs are bleh, and on the verge of being discontuned

the one good one they have is actually chinese made. (Lincoln Nautilus)

A car is machine built to die. Everything is about dying. And it's for you. The supports of the engine will shunt it downward and sheer the shafts. Unibody will universally crumple in side impact, completely ruining every part of itself. It just dies in every way you can imagine, and can't. It dies.

I'm waiting for them to make one of these unibody ones but scaled down with the type-C connector

Context: whenever someone I know wants a new laptop, if their current one isn't a unibody piece of apple e-waste, I will remove all the bloatware, replace the HDD with an SSD, maybe add more RAM, and it's good as new.
