#us-regulations
Republicans have always told us that cutting regulations for corporations would make products better and cheaper.

Turns out, without regulations, corporations will just wash our food with literal shit and charge us even more for food we can’t eat…

It's hard to believe it, but the US has no pedestrian impact regulations

OpenAI: We’re burning money like the Joker. A miracle needs to happen for us to turn a profit

Microsoft: Please please use our AI systems, we’re teetering on the edge here

Anthropic: I wonder what’ll kill us first: lawsuits, regulations or model collapse

Media and universities: AI is here to stay

Trump’s EPA let a major pesticide company pick what its regulations should be. Alarming proof that EPA is there to serve corporate interests, not protect the safety of Americans.

The Corporate food industry told us fewer regulations and " red tape" would create more jobs

Who knew those jobs created would be in health care

Isn't Elon Musk the greatest hypocrite in the US?
He opposes federal funding, but lives on federal subsidies.
He opposes government regulations, but wants regulations favoring him.
He wants illegal immigrants to be deported, but he was an illegal immigrant.
What Trash!

Hear me everyone—regulations keep us, the consumers safe. That is what they are for.

I cannot overstate how remarkable it is that under GOP rule, US federal health regulations have been captured by fringe crackpots who espouse views that the vast majority of the US public—and nearly 100% of health professionals—reject.

It’s amazing how as soon as these companies could make our food less safe they did. It’s why you need good regulations. They don’t care about us.

show us the three existing applicable regulations or penalties you’ve enforced before you propose a new solution challenge:
This is about regulating AI but the same applies to safety net and ALMPs in response to anticipated disruption from AI. Folks on the hill want "something for AI" but standard sectoral training and employment policy, guaranteed income, etc. are still the solutions because disruption is disruption.

i dont condone murder at all but the msm just absolutely misses the notion that these people suddenly afraid *do not give a single fuck* about the rest of us. pollute the environment, cut regulations? theyre gunning us down daily.

Due to the layoffs I am afraid that we have had to take over the running of the US National Parks.

We are updating the park regulations but for now the most important thing people can do before visiting a national park is to marinade themselves for 12 hours in olive oil, lime juice & garlic.

🔊Louder for the folks in the back! Environmental regulations did not kill coal in the US. Gas did. Regulations keep people safe. They keep coal's dangerous mercury out of the water and the fish and the soil-- and that keeps us healthier! Environmental regulations protect people from toxic POLLUTION.

Some of y’all forget the reason we have food safety regulations is because companies used to do things like adding chalk to spoiled milk so it looked normal.

Regulations don’t exist because governments enjoy them. They exist because pure unadulterated capitalism would kill us.

Wondering why Cybertrucks are allowed on the road? Because this is literally how auto safety regulations works in the US. Every vehicle is assumed compliant until proven otherwise by underpaid bureaucrats, at public expense
I'll forever keep my simple explainer of FMVSS compliance:

Put a sticker on it.

That's it, the end. Just need a sticker stating that you think your product meets all required safety standards and you accept civil liability should this be proven false

Climate change is a threat to all of us – in Maryland and worldwide.

This reversal in environmental regulations will put us all in danger and we must continue to uphold regulations previously made by the EPA in order to protect our planet.

A long-standing "joke" I repeatedly heard when in automotive related public policy:

In Europe, the regulations ensure vehicles are safe. In the US, the regulations ensure there is a clearly defined entity for survivors or estates of the deceased to sue.

A win is a win. But the suffering is brutal. Cruel and unusual (not nearly unusual enough in US prisons). PS, US workplaces don’t have temperature regulations either.
A group led by formerly incarcerated women spent years advocating for those trapped inside prison walls during Texas’ hot summers. This week, a federal judge ruled that the state must air-condition all Texas prisons by the end of 2029.

This story was first published by @19thnews.org.
