Life is good, thanks. Retired from USAWC about 4 years ago to focus on spending time with grandchildren. How about you?

Been bouncing around b/ween SOCOM & CENTCOM over the better part of the past 12 years - DUDE IT'S BEEN 12 YEARS!!! - since the sequester ate my billet at USAWC. Did a brief stint at a DOD COE in MD, but came back to help out w/mom. Hanging in. Glad you're doing well!

👇!!!! BG (ret) Scott Perry who represents PA-10, which is where I lived when I was assigned at USAWC, helped to plan the 6 JAN attack on the Capitol. One of my good friends & former colleagues ran against him & lost. So this is an important district to flip for multiple reasons!

You might also contact the War Colleges to see how/if they treat the topic. How cooperative they will be is anyones guess in this current climate.

We should chat some time. I did two full core curriculum reviews of the USAWC curriculum as part of my assigned duties & if you’re considering putting something together on a way ahead on this, I’d love to assist however I can.

That would make a ton of sense. I had to deal with one of that center's faculty once & it was a major effort to keep that individual from making my boss, the USAWC commandant, stupid on a very important topic. And one he'd made me the lead for dealing with.

I don't envy the challenges you are confronting. Thankfully, I retired from teaching at the USAWC before all this craziness.

People are weird. That aside, Nelly is brilliant and a wonderful colleague and person. I enjoyed working with her at USAWC.

LSCOmania. AirLand Battle 2.0?

There's so much wretched milspeak. I used to tell my students at SAMS & USAWC that the Pentagon is where the English language goes to die a humiliating death.

He once again makes the 100% incorrect assertion that USAID was responsible for/funding regime change. You know, the well known revolutionary cadres of USAID. I've worked w/a lot of USAID folks over the years. I supervised one at USAWC. I can honestly say this is a LIE!!!! 1/
He's quite possibly one of the worst people to have ever lived.

Including the ones who were former military. My student at USAWC was a retired Coast Guard O5. One of the senior USAID officers I worked w/until the day they disappeared was a retired Marine.

I may just be being over-optimistic, but I still find it disappointing that the stock system at Helsinki's Akateeminen kirjakauppa stuffs my author page with overpriced pirated printouts of publications that are actually free from Chatham House, USAWC etc.

had.

That's aside from the fact that my work, I believe, made a contribution and would have been almost impossible to do without that program.

I will forever be grateful to the USAWC, SSI and all the wonderful people I had the chance to get know there.

I know this is disengenuous. But I'll play.

I went to undergrad w/ hippies.

My grad school professors all taught at various military-affiliated academies. (C&GS, NWC, USAWC, the Citadel) They were notably dissimilar from my undergrad professors. Just totally different.
"We need more uniformed members going back into West Point, the Air Force Academy… instead of just more civilian professors that came from the same left-wing, woke universities that they left, and then try to push that into service academies," Hegseth said.

The Blogs: Goodbye UNIFIL: Now what?
While Israel has little love for the peacekeepers, some of whom failed to stop attacks or even may have colluded in them, it may want a similar but better force on the Lebanon border

I know I'm a mil nerd when I get excited about a quote like:

"We want our military to be our servant - never our overseer."

It's one of those truisms those of us in uniform all feel but maybe never had the words to speak.

US National Security Strategy isn't actually strategy; it's a suicide note.
It tells every federal agency how to engage the world. It sets the tone for unified action. It defines the boundaries of acceptable thot. Read this: www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...
