Running into issues where the react compiler compiles solid-js code in @tanstack.com devtools because solid has `useContext` too and the compiler does its thing and everything dies with “invalid hook call” 💀

I just implemented context support for React Server Components in server-reason-react.
unlike React.js where createContext/useContext are client-only, our OCaml implementation supports context in server components, including across Suspense boundaries.

Hmmm, maybe depends on your definition. useContext, useTransition, onCleanup, onMount — these all feel "hooks-style" to me.

useContext is advanced state management. I remember using it one of my previous roles and it was a big deal. The engineer who recommended it had to do a presentation on why we were using useContext instead of Redux.

Yeah, we don’t plan to pursue useContext in useMemo anymore. The compiler largely addresses this use case. The next thing we’re looking at is concurrent stores, for when you have very complex state that is hard to model as a single value in context.

I forgot to post yesterday so here's some updates! I got useContext figured out and now when I select a vendor search result I can see their whole profile and decide if I want to book them for my wedding. I'm still working on the designs of the profile pages.

I'm actually surprised this is my first time implementing dark/light mode toggle into an application 😆 It was fun to revisit useContext and change the styling througout the code's React component tree while avoiding prop drilling 🔥
