my body’s special power is I get uvulitis (swollen uvula) for a day or two before I come down with a cold. is it useful in any way? no

it took Norrin about seven days to get over this cold and I’m feeling better after five, preceeded by two days of uvulitis. maybe I was thinking about this wrong and my uvula is actually my body’s greatest protector and friend

I am home safe from Readercon! The uvulitis is furious with me, but it was worth it to see old friends, meet so many new cool people, and to get to honor Arkady on stage. I really adore this con. Excited for next year!

Today I learned about uvulitis. This is when your uvula (the dangly thing in your throat) swells up from allergy, infection, or irritation. In my case it went from tiny to the size of my thumb.
Bad throat thumb! I do not want a throat thumb!

Today I learned about uvulitis. This is when your uvula (the dangly thing in your throat) swells up from allergy, infection, or irritation. In my case it went from tiny to the size of my thumb.

Also, thanks to the audience for putting up with my sore throat. I'm on meds for the uvulitis and am improving, but I know I wasn't always the easiest to hear. Everybody was accommodating and made me feel at home.
Had a lovely time at the Bergen County Science Fiction Association last night! A fun talk with a great and engaging audience. Well worth trekking through the fog and snow.

~Interesting~ update! I woke today to find my uvulitis has returned. Uvula is quite swollen, making talking an issue.
I have a signing at 12, a panel at 2, and a kaffeeklatsch at 3.
I will pace myself and try to make all three events. My apologies if I am quieter and/or have to dip out early.

Uvulitis is not contagious. It's literally just my uvula declaring war on me. I had a bout of it earlier this year, and honestly, I'm glad my first time having it wasn't at a con.
Right now I'm hydrating and prepping as best I can. I hope to see lots of people today.

If you woke up with uvulitis for the first time in ur life and it was terrifying so you’re currently sitting on your bathroom floor, steaming your uvula, and drinking tea with honey, setting the mood can go a long way in not feeling sorry for yourself 😌

my uvulitis is pretty much cleared up but between that, no sleep Tuesday night, and then twelve hours of travel yesterday, my body mutinied 😨

I woke up with Uvulitis. 😭
In the middle of my sleep I had a tickle in the back of my throat that made me cough a few times, maybe it was dust related idk. I did some cleaning in my closet not too long before and my body didn't react very well. I woke up with my uvula all swollen and hanging.

Oh yeah, both my uvulitis cases have wound up with it sitting on my tongue. But I'm hoping once this subsides, it'll shrink like normal.

When I woke up with uvulitis from an allergic reaction, all I had on-hand was pepcid and it really helped get the situation under control!

I spent most of last night at the ER. I was cleaning and I had a very bad asthma attack. I don’t normally get them…

its now lined but im lacking motivation to color today. got a headache after forcing myself back to work with uvulitis.

uvulitis has mostly been dealt with, the weird part is the swelling actually started with an ear infection that I messed up with, cause I didn't know I had it, and I used some of that stuff to take care of blocked ear canals (but you're not supposed to use it when theres an infection)
