Die Kunst bestand darin, mit unterschiedlich dunklen Kreisen eine Sonnenfinsternis bildlich umzusetzen, auf dass sie verständlich wurde. "Nach dem augen maaß" erklärte dieser Sonderdruck die vielen kleinen Kreise, die die Bewegungen der "Grose Sonnen Finsterniß vom Jahr 1715" andeuteten.
