Post VdGG's break-up in 1978, I've often felt there's quite a few Peter Hammill solo tracks that have a VdGG feel or energy to them.

I just really like it ;-) And PH did drop a few solo style tracks on VdGG albums. But yeah, bit of a cheat.

Seven Impale - Contrapasso. Haven't played this for a while. Norwegian prog with metal and a touch of jazz thrown into the mix. Definite hints of VDGG in places. I should play it more.

I absolutely love Sitting Targets, one of my fave PH albums. It's the title track in particular that put me in mind of doing this playlist, as it's always struck me as sounding like an alt history version of VdGG. And of course it's based on an incident from VdGG's own history!

50 years ago today, VdGG finally make it to the U.S.A. for their one and (as it turned out) only U.S. show of the band's 70s existence. October 18th, 1976 at New York City's Beacon Theatre.
