You should own at least one and preferably two fire extinguishers.

Turns out a basic box fan fits perfectly into one of the overhead windows on the flight deck of the Space Shuttle!

FYI, even if you have annoying amounts of paper trash and a finite bin, no matter how useful washing it down the drain as ash sounds, your bathroom window is probably not rated to ventilate well enough to burn it in the bathtub.

Are we doing the whole “naloxone isn’t waking them up like in the movies” in articles now? Use a BVM to ventilate and take time to reduce the PCO2. Titrate to ventilation and not consciousness. How has EMS forgotten this? Use 1mg of IM naloxone and ventilate - never had that fail ever

One thing that feels weird about structural firefighting is traipsing through someone’s home. Last night wasn’t too bad - just smoke, so opening windows & doors to ventilate, moving some furniture around. But earlier this year I had to rip down eaves to access a fire - actual damage.

I feel after a few more covid waves and a broadening of our understanding of post viral conditions we may have some more ideas of what keeps children safe. Keep rolling out those air filters. Some covid and flu jabs too and lots of encouragement to ventilate spaces children are in.
