There's also no frying pan, no coffee maker, no AC, no ventilation for the bathroom... 🤪

Ventilation at @newyorkcomiccon.bsky.social is super insufficient for the crowd this year. COVID and other pathogens are spreading. We need safer #IndoorAir. Take precautions. @msjulieslam.bsky.social at #NYCC #MaskTogetherAmerica

Saturday AM update: Tropical Storm Rachel, despite fairly hostile ambient atmosphere, is indeed strengthening slightly as predicted over record-warm ocean temps & aided by upper-level ventilation from incoming mid-lat trough. Pacific Coast/US SW impacts becoming clearer. [Thread]

My gas stove, she’s a beast. Ain’t no problem if you have adequate ventilation.

Sometimes people will run a generator in their garage with the big door open. One portable generator can produce as much carbon monoxide as hundreds of cars. Even with a large door open, there is not enough ventilation to be safe.

Supermarkets in shopping malls have generally lower CO2-levels than the other categories - less so for chains which lower ones everywhere obviously. One reason for that is probably that most shopping malls have shared ventilation and clothing and store shops demand high ventilation for odour reasons

And suppose we find out that PJ.2.1 was circulating among immunosenescent individuals in some relatively isolated nursing home in Ontario—and that its circulation could've been prevented with efficient ventilation and air filtration? I think this would be an important revelation for public health.

And you should say it! Good ventilation is important ✨𖣘✨

It’s always framed in terms of giving to the poor as well… and while financial support is crucial to living healthy lives, withholding information that would empower people to make better decisions at very little cost… such as increasing natural ventilation where possible, or eating outdoors… and

Almost one in ten people tested in hospital have Covid, according to the latest UKHSA data. This is higher than 6.5% for flu. Yet vaccination prioritises flu. Most severe Covid cases are caught *in hospital*, by vulnerable patients. Where are masks, ventilation, HEPA air filters?

Air conditioning keeps us cool, but it also heats the 🌎.

As temperatures rise, demand for cooling is set to triple by 2050. But keeping cool doesn’t always mean cranking up the AC.

From shade & ventilation to cool roofs, here are 5 ways to beat the heat with less energy: https://bit.ly/4zexrmn

“CO2 at 2035 PPM says poor ventilation. #NYCC is a zoo this year! COVID is Not Over!” #MaskTogetherAmerica interviewed 33 maskers on the 1st day of 2026 @newyorkcomiccon.bsky.social. Public health needs to prioritize prevention of aerosol - infection that triggers disabling chronic illness.

It would have been so easy to improve ventilation in public bldgs & housing. It would reduce colds, flu, & other respiratory illnesses but improve general health but greed won over health. Even hospitals could reduce nosocomial diseases with improved ventilation. The science & technology is there.

It’s election season, so push your officials to upgrade ventilation and UVC lighting in public spaces (airports and schools especially!).

Individually: *mask*!
This scenario, with multiple variants growing in parallel, increases the risk of rapid reinfection and coinfections, especially among those relying on disease-acquired immunity.
