Amaravati, Oct 9 (SocialNews.XYZ) YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders and former Ministers Chelluboyina Venugopala Krishna and Dharmana Prasada Rao said on Friday that the Supreme Court judgment on Backward Class (BC) reservations exposed the N. Chandrababu Naidu-led Andhra Pradesh government's betrayal of BCs by failing to provide 34 per cent reservation to them in local body elections. They said Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu had promised 34 per cent reservation in the election manifesto despite being fully aware of the legal ceiling on reservations, but failed to complete the statutory and constitutional process required to protect the quota.

Tadepalli (Andhra Pradesh), Oct 1 (SocialNews.XYZ) YSR Congress Party's senior leaders and former ministers Dharmana Prasada Rao and Chelluboyina Srinivasa Venugopala Krishna said the Andhra Pradesh High Court’s decision striking down government orders on BC reservations had exposed the Chandrababu Naidu regime's political game in the name of social justice. The High Court set aside the orders providing 34 per cent BC reservation in rural local bodies and 33.33 per cent in urban bodies, while directing that the local-body election process be initiated within six weeks. Dharmana said that the YSRCP had warned from the day the GOs were issued that they would face legal hurdles because aggregate vertical reservations for SCs, STs, and BCs cannot ordinarily cross the 50 per cent ceiling.

Amaravati, February 08, 2026: Andhra Pradesh authorities have launched a ₹16.7 crore renovation project for the historic Venugopala Swamy temple in Moolapet, Nellore district. Works began six months ago under the guidance of Tridandi Srimannarayana Chinna Jeeyar. The plan covers upgrading the main temple structure, widening and improving the four surrounding mada streets for smoother processions, and building a new Lord Narasimha temple—its foundation stone already laid. Ministers Ponguru Narayana and Anam Ramanarayana Reddy recently reviewed designs and models, directing officials to speed up execution.

The flute holds a revered place in Indian culture largely because of its association with Lord Krishna, who is also known as Venugopala. “The flute is the oldest musical instrument in the world,“ says
