Sunset at Little Wanganui. Low tide, wet sand and reflections. There’s nothing like a west coast sunset.

Two #iris currently blooming in my garden. The white and yellow lost its name long ago. The purple is 'Wanganui Gem' by Jean Stevens of New Zealand. Created sometime in the 1930s. They are so tiny and cute! 🌱

Little Wanganui beach, looking towards the north and Karamea. A big empty sandy beach with only a flock of Terns fishing in the surf to keep me company.

Through a terrible error in judgement I booked into the Little Wanganui pub one Christmas (it's the only place to eat in town, and was, naturally, closed). With nothing else to do, I spent Christmas photographing the area and improving the Little Wanganui article. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_...

#TramNews: MOTAT's Western Springs Tramway has welcomed Wanganui trailer No. 21 back to the tracks following a complete rebuild/restoration.

No. 21 will be paired with former Wanganui steam tram motor No. 100 for public rides at MOTAT.

The ODT needed a photo of Little Wanganui at short notice so used mine; and almost correctly cited it! A nice change; newspapers routinely credit "Wikipedia" or "Wikimedia". They just needed to credit the source as well (Wikimedia Commons).
