So, AI data centres are now undermining:-
- Decarbonisation & net-zero
- #WaterSecurity
- Energy supply
- Protection of productive farmland & #FoodSecurity
- Employment
And yet central Government is prioritising them over everything else.
Treasury orders presumably.

Cambodia and Australia strengthen cooperation on water security amid climate pressures
PHNOM PENH; Cambodia and Australia are strengthening cooperation to improve access to clean water and build climate resilience in the water supply sector, as officials and industry representatives gathered for the sixth Cambodian Water Conference and Trade Exhibition, which opened in Phnom Penh on Monday. The two-day event, organised by the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, the Cambodian Water Supply Association (CWA) and the Australian embassy, brought together more than 350 representatives from government, industry, development partners, financial institutions, research institutes and technology providers. Themed “Today’s Innovation, Tomorrow’s Water Solutions”, the conference aims to promote technological innovation, strengthen partnerships and identify practical ways to improve water security, expand access and enhance the long-term resilience of water services to climate change. The event comes as Cambodia faces growing pressure on its water resources from climate change, including increased risks of droughts, floods and changing rainfall patterns, alongside rising demand for water services and mounting pressure on existing infrastructure. Cambodia has made significant progress in expanding access to clean water over recent decades and is working towards universal coverage by 2030. However, providing reliable, affordable and sustainable services to rural and remote communities remains a challenge. Science Minister Hem Vanndy...

United Nations report highlights significant increase in US climate pollution
Countries are not doing enough to cut emissions that cause climate change, according to a new report from United Nations scientists. And the United States is a big part of the problem. The U.S. sticks out as the only major economy where planet-warming pollution increased dramatically last year, the report notes. Among the world's largest emitters of greenhouse gases, the U.S. was tied last year with Russia for the most emissions per capita. China emits significantly more total greenhouse gases each year than the U.S., but has more than four times the population. Overall, global emissions were basically the same last year as they were the previous year. U.S. emissions grew because of increased electricity demand, as well as Trump administration policies that support the burning of fossil fuels. The Trump administration has ordered coal-fired power plants in the U.S. to stay open longer than planned, rolled back fuel-efficiency standards for vehicles and ended tax credits for solar and wind projects. Those policies have made the U.S. an outlier when it comes to escalating greenhouse gas emissions, says Inger Andersen, the executive director of the U.N. Environment Programme. "Right now, everybody is scrambling a little bit regarding energy security," Andersen...
