Drive down Waxpool Rd or Loudoun County Pkwy which over 15 years ago were surrounded by huge rolling fields and woods and tell me you’d appreciate living near big gray windowless structures that “don’t affect the natural beauty.”
But you won’t since you stay inside the beltway.

YEAH I KNOW. We had AOL, "UUNET", a couple of major fiber optic hubs offshore, Mae East, etc.... All right across the street from the Target at Rt 28 and Waxpool -- right over there by the Verizon campus.
I did telephony and IT infrastructure for many years.

They are flipping loud. Go out to waxpool and park. The roaring isn't the airplanes or 28, it's the idk how many data centers that are out there. Loudon got royally rammed with how many of them they have.

I hear this a lot about for your area around VA-28. Ashburn, Sterling, Herndon, Dulles, Reston and soon to be Manassass. They are building DC heavy down Nokesville Rd, Prince William Pkwy and the surrounding area and everyone hates it. They be MAD on reddit.
I live in data center alley. I read about the power surges they cause here making appliances die faster. The people here have protested but they just keep building.
