unexpected fashion trends for webapps in 2028: single page apps are dead

as we move from daily release cycles to hourly release cycles, it's that much easier to just reload all the code every click

thinking about how menubars just aren't really a thing anymore, at least not in electron apps, and how we've all moved onto panels with a menu strip

sure enough there's reasons like "webapps do not have menu bars" but also reasons like "neither do phones" and "we have a lot more screen space now"

Poet, translator, journalist and diplomat Camill Hoffmann was born #OTD in 1878. He helped Leos Janacek bring opera to German stages. Gestapo arrested him in 1942 and deported to Terezin. 2 years later, he and his wife died in Auschwitz.

Print-ready menus and price lists in minutes. Menumoor, recorded on the live page: A real menu from the first second → Type: the menu updates as you go → Undo anything (Ctrl+Z).

Does Google realize schools existed before their search engine or tools ? Or that there are other search engines and software suites and webapps than theirs that work just as well if not better ? Teachers and students will just adapt and find new solutions like they always have.

To be sure, and this is not a patch on webapps as a concept, browsers themselves removed their full-screen modes, not to mention background audio.

@jef I mean, just with modern websites and IDEs, I oftentimes struggle with 16GB of memory. If I was building a new computer, I'd be getting 32GB just to keep all these fucking bloated webapps and build environments rubbing.

Hello everyone,

My websites are extremely busy right now. Apologies for the slow load times.

There are thousands of visits at a time being reported by my server.

Thank you for using my webapps for results. (I've maxed out my VPS, I cannot add capacity quickly.) #yhmvote #HamOnt

Just like Google/Alphabet partnering with universities to provide email, storage, and webapps; with the idea being they'd transition into a Gmail account when they graduated.
3 years in, they capped the storage (unlimited down to 5GB) on ALL accounts. This made quite a headache for IT.

right why do i care if new abstractions replace bad languages designed for making terrible webapps

those were temporary solutions to manufactured problems made up by shitty people like DHH

i do care if AI replaces people learning real languages though. or real network architecture (sorry)

lol

yo aguantando windows con lo feo que es y con lo que capa un ordenador cuando podría tener una distro de linux súper aesthetic y aguantar con webapps para las cuatro cosas que hago que requieren de windows (realmente es usar word y poco más)
