Which came first, the galaxy or the black hole? Webb’s observation of Abell2744-QSO1 suggests the black hole was there first! It appears these supermassive objects didn't grow from smaller stars but were enormous from the very beginning. #Cosmology #WebbTelescope #SpaceDiscovery

I think most amateur astronomers struggle to see beyond two dimensions when they view the night sky. Astrophotographers can do it though. There is no doubt about the three dimensions in this shot from the Webb telescope. #astronomy #photography #astrophotography #WebbTelescope

A core that outshines a galaxy! M77’s center hosts a supermassive black hole 8 million times the mass of our Sun. The light from this active nucleus is so intense it creates Webb’s iconic six-pointed diffraction spikes. Talk about a powerhouse! 🌌

Cosmic popcorn, newly imaged by JWST.
This dwarf galaxy, called I Zwicky 18, was largely dark and inert for billions of years. Then -- pop pop -- it started producing the bright bursts of stars seen here. 🔭🧪

The shenanigans of mere earthbound humans seem petty when you're looking at Web photos of distant nebulae and galaxies.

NASA's JWST found that Jupiter’s auroras are more active and complex than we thought, with surprising changes in heat and energy near the poles.
🧪🔭
It also turns out that Jupiter’s poles heat unevenly. The study reveals complex energy flows in the upper atmosphere.

✨ Bigger stars, faster start! The Webb & Hubble telescopes reveal that massive star clusters break free from their birth clouds in just 5 million years—faster than smaller ones. This "stellar feedback" is key to understanding how galaxies evolve. 🚀 #Space #Astronomy #WebbTelescope
