The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission publishes a tool that shows where sidewalks are missing: www.dvrpc.org/webmaps/side...

Embarrassingly Philadelphia's worst area is Fairmount Park which has many roads without any sidewalks.

To get that 42% number I'm looking at PennDOT's latest traffic counts for that stretch of road: gis.penndot.gov/tire/tms-sit...

And comparing to the latest bike / pedestrians averaged over a week from here: www.dvrpc.org/webmaps/traf...

On peak days it's likely over 50% biking / walking.

Philadelphia has a unique opportunity to reevaluate the stretch of I-95 through Center City and South Philly.

However right now it's on course to be rebuilt for $4.62 billion with construction lasting 17 years and ending in 2050.

Interestingly in 2024 usage of Philadelphia's Spruce St. bike lane has increased every month in the year.

Perhaps due to warmer weather? Or more people choosing to bike? This year's Oct. numbers are up significantly over last year.
