chrome 152 broke webmidi?! argh. if youre struggling with webmidi on chrome, apparently the 'beta' fixes it. sigh, computers :)

Just learned about libremidi — a modern MIDI library inspired by RtMidi.

Did Mozilla and webkit ever actually provide many concrete concerns? From what I've seen it's mostly just vague bad vibes about privacy and security.
I would love it if they did put more effort into their rebuttals (I could easily have missed it!), as that would provide something actionable.

Le CFP de DevoxxFR est ouvert ! Cette année j'ai envie de re-proposer un talk que j'ai fait en 2019 à Toulouse : live coding musical de zéro à un morceau électro-pop génératif avec juste le navigateur et WebAudio, plus WebMIDI pour mettre la "touche humaine" sur le génératif.

Nah gonna keep that pure without AI in it. Might do something with WebMidi though. I already have tons of different effects implemented in the synth keyboard and theremin using tone.js. I might make a module generating effects for MIDI instruments using WebMidi.js.

Firefox doesn't support WebUSB for dubious reasons. They require downloading and running native executables able to access all user data and control everything instead of granting access to a specific USB device for supposed security reasons. They added WebMIDI and WebSerial so it's not consistent.
