A typical bedroom in a house at Port Sunlight model village, much like the one my mother knew, growing up there 100 years ago. This house is now a museum in the village on Merseyside, built for workers at Lever’s soap factory.
A bed with a stone hot water bottle resting on the covers as light streams through a window through leaded glass and creates shadows through the wooden slats at the end. Rudimentary furniture stands against the wall with a mirror on a dresser and a water jug. The bedroom is part of a house that is preserved as a museum in its original pre-war condition in the Port Sunlight model village in the Wirral peninsula in north-west England. The village was created for workers at his new soap factory by William Lever. Eventually Lever Bros became the global business, Unilever. Camera: Panasonic DMC-TZ8
