WFQ heads to PVD for NecronomiCon Providence!

Greetings from the Grand Emporium of the Weird at NecronomiCon Providence. We've been camped out selling books and prints to a very fun crowd. If you're a subscriber at the show (free or paid), please stop by and to say "hello" and get your free WFQ stickers and maybe meet a contributor or two. * * * **Updates** We've been a bit quiet on the WFQ front lately and to share some updates. We've been a _very_ irregular Quarterly this year and we're looking to finish up the year strong with a few issues this fall. First of all, our _Liminal Spaces & Beings_ issue is essentially complete and we'll be sending that on to the printers after the show this weekend. We'll be dropping the cover and Table of Contents next week, with a release soon after. We were hoping to get it out in time for this show, but Life Has A Way Of Getting In The Way. After _Liminal Spaces & Beings_, we have a full volume of stories for our next animal-themed issue. We're in the final process of reviewing those tales and running them through the editing process. We've also selected our next theme and will be putting out a call for submissions within the next week or two. So, while we've been a bit quiet in 2026, we're looking to finish the year strong. * * * **H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival 2026** If you can't visit us in Providence this weekend, WFQ will have a table at this year's H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland, Oregon on the weekend of October 2nd through 4th selling book and prints. Sarah and I will be running the table there and we expect to see a number of our West Coast contributors join us to chat about books and artwork. The Hollywood Theater in Portland, Oregon If hanging out watching films, meeting authors, and chatting about all things weird sounds like fun, you can get your tickets now. (Also, as a pizza fan myself, I will say that the theater sits right next to an _excellent_ pizza joint.) * * * **Experimental Files** While we're pushing hard to get more flash fiction in your hands, we are also branching out into some other publishing projects. I'm a bit ashamed to see that I didn't mention the release of Experimental Files earlier this year. Cover by Sarah Walker _Experimental Files_ is an anthology of longer short stories (20 in total) exploring and riffing on the themes, settings, and ideas in Gemma Files' award-winning 2015 novel Experimental Film. Including an introduction by John Langan, a number of familiar faces from WFQ contributed stories of haunted films, uncovered evidence of forgotten sacrificial cults, and found footage in surf films. Topping it off, _Experimental Film_ includes new illustrations drawn by Gemma Files for this anthology. Proceeds from this volume are donated to autism research and work training organizations.
