A dragonfly resting on a tomato leaf, hopefully a sign of things to come, also hopefully without that tiny whitefly! Love that coppery colored abdomen.🌱🌿 #inverts

What's that? The world is insane, but you need your wonderfully-alien-yet-beautiful critters?

Say. No. More. 😎

Welcome to the microscopic world of #whitefly pupae. Under your nose & on your plants, these tiny bugs are suckin' juices & lookin' snazzy [adults, not so much]

I tried hard to get both in focus but here you can see the hummer snagging a whitefly from the Wisteria. #birds

Whitefly, perceived as a pest but looking up close at them, they look quite pretty, like little fairies 🧚‍♀️

I photographed this beautiful spiral on the underside of a leaf in my garden (in San Diego). I believe it is made from eggs laid by the "spiraling whitefly".

Why is this pattern laid down, & why does this species choose to do this?

Bluesky people: anyone know please?

I walk past a patch of Greater Celandine growing in a little alleyway on my way to visit my mum. I check the underside of the leaves fairly often and today I finally got lucky - Horseshoe Ladybird! Poor phone pic as no camera today. #ladybirds #coleoptera

I don’t care if it’s 1915 there is NO excuse for your whitefly slides to be this bad

French Marigolds are a game-changer for whitefly control! 🌼🚫They release Limonene, a strong scent that acts as a natural repellent. The aroma confuses airborne pests & "jams" their navigation, stopping them from landing on your prized veggies. 🍅

Project Animalia #673
Greenhouse whitefly (Trialeurodes vaporariorum)

A frequent garden "pest". They damage plants through feeding, but also by transmitting plant viruses.

My poor Alice is infested with whitefly!

The gentlest way to kill whitefly by far. Lightly singed my Alice petals but nothing compared to the guarenteed death other sprays have. Workin well and smell is manageable. I recommend this product on your most sensitive plants.

I work in landscaping. When a plant is utterly fucked we tell the customer it has whitefly. Sometimes it does, sometimes they just suck at caring for that plant.

America has whitefly I don't know what to tell ya, we should probably pull it out.

Whiteflies are Hemipterans that typically feed on the undersides of plant leaves.

They comprise the family Aleyrodidae, the only family in the superfamily Aleyrodoidea. More than 1550 species have been described.

Still chopping things down in the garden, covered in sticky whitefly crap, got a dodgy eye and a dodgy foot and still not made it to the Shoes yet. Not at my best....

Another harvest of cav nero leaves from the allotment for tonight's dinner, they're absolutely pristine with no trace of whitefly or aphids thanks to the deployment of our tailored heavy duty fine mesh cover, I'll change it for standard bird netting to allow more light through at some point soon. 🌱

I went to photograph the first rose yesterday and it was a horror show 😱. Tried again today after washing them off with the hosepipe, that's better. Penelope. #GardensHour
