I would have to grow my hair out for a few years and then sell what he chops off to one of those elite wigmakers who use only human hair to be able to afford that, so booking 6 months out shouldn't be a problem

Some people donate long hair to wigmakers. You donate to bulletproof vest makers.

Loophole the system and have them cut it everytime and donate the hair to charity wigmakers, assuming it doesn't disappear when they change back.

I feel like there should be a podcast to just talk to wigmakers on these dragon shows, period K/J-dramas. Sword shows, etc. Are wigs getting re-used? Does anyone ever show up with their own? How many wigs does Rhanera(sp?) have? Has anyone refused a wig?
Just tell me about all the hairs.

I remember him getting the permission for Wigmakers Job, but I'm not sure how Cameo would work regarding who owns what and all that. If nothing else @mrspissedprole.bsky.social, you could always ask him before ordering the cameo.

Been letting hair grow out for a while, but tired of dealing w/tangles.

Donating the hank of hair to Wigs For Kids. (Silver or white hair sold to pro wigmakers to support operating costs.)

Hilde grew out & donated hair multiple times, something she could do as her disabilities increased.

Japan’s Kabuki Wigmakers Step Into Spotlight After Oscar Nod
Traditional wigmakers in Japan are drawing renewed attention after a kabuki-themed film earned an Oscar nomination for best makeup and hairstyling. In Tokyo, fourth-generation wigmaker Kamoji Tadashi continues a decades-old craft. Veteran performers say the transformation is incomplete without these creations.|Putting on the finishing touches, 60-year-oldwig maker Kamozi Tadashi places his latestcreation onto kabuki actor Nakamura Tanenosuke. The smooth top knot, known as a mage, wasa status symbol in the Edo period, and nowtransforms this young performer intoa sumo wrestler from times past.A kabuki actor just can't walk ontostage as he is and be a kabuki actor. It's only when he dons the wig thathe truly becomes a kabuki actor. This key part of kabuki, a traditionalJapanese theater art, has gained attentionafter a film about kabuki actors, Kokuhou, wasnominated for the Oscars in best makeup andhair styling this year.Kabuki is known for its dramatic makeup, colorful costumes, and all-male cast.In kabuki, wigs are made to express the socialstatus, jobs, and personality of all sorts ofcharacters, from noble womento villains and comedians. And the wigs bring more thanjust a physical transformation.I believe it is an art form. While the audience sees the actor as a humanbeing, the wig is an absolute necessity forthe character that the actor is portraying.Kamozi is a fourth-generation wigmaker, also known as a tokoyama. He says he feels a sense of pride in helpingmake the key element that draws audiences intothe performance. When the actor goes on stage and receivesshouts or praise or loud applause, it makesme feel that our wig perhaps suited the actor.I very much feel a sense of joy in that.Over four decades, Kamozi has honed histokoyama skills from his family, transforminghundreds of kabuki performers into their roles, and he hopes to keep learning more as hecontinues to make even morecreations for the stage.Easton Chen and Tiffany Wong for TaiwanPlus.

Hair On Film is one of my favorite subgenres of movie journalism, because it's always interviews with frazzled wigmakers, pissed off nobody understands fake hair is difficult and very expensive & that they got hired at the end of pre-production
First look at Dwayne Johnson as Maui in the live-action ‘MOANA’ remake.

What's more, the algorithmically generated Ben Franklin looks like the prompt was "uncanny valley Anthony Hopkins in weird wig" and the unprecedented storytelling tool is simply "not having to pay Anthony Hopkins or weird wigmakers."

I’ve never been a fan of arda lacefronts tbh, I think it must be the way the ventilation is tied it just doesn’t feel as seamless to me as other wigmakers. Esp for the price 💀

As someone who routinely puts wigs worth about as much as a used car on people’s heads, I think most laypeople just have no idea what a good wig looks or feels like. They’re designed to look like real hair! Also, the production for ROTS was half UK, and their wigmakers are some of the best.

On a sidenote, that funky aqua glue wigmakers use seems pretty neat. Tried a little for Clemont just to point his wig ends a little better and it seems good.

It's kind of in the crazy end price-wise but I really want to get a doll/BJD of my main two OCs!!
but the cost is like in the multiple hundreds of dollars so I just make spreadsheets and plans about possible head sculpts and wigmakers for it instead 🫠
