Try not to fall into nostalgia unless it’s fueling my art but boy oh boy do I miss these days of plenty.

calamitymerlian was wildcaught and previously kept as a pet by an unsavory master. Extremely suspicious of humans and quick to snarl and bite and flare his fins. It takes a lot of dedicated attention from Hua Cheng and a pair of biteproof gloves to help him calm down and feel safe

the sense of 'wildcaught scrolling content' still isn't here but for me at least the notifications + paranotifications system drives enough text to just be a full website in itself. and then it would be nice to find paper threads or painting threads but it turns out to be extra
Bsky is a lot better mostly because now we have dms and drafts and a lot of the best people are finally actually using this platform.
The general feeds still feel inadequate although and suffers from being overwhelmed by politics and not enough science*tm

🐟 Sockeye season is here! Fresh, wild-caught Sockeye salmon from Alaska is now available at Uwajimaya for a limited time. Get it while it's in season.

our years-old wildcaught armadillidium nasatum tank bounced back from a major crash some time ago. unfortunately the diversity of colors/markings is way down though so i am braving purchasing isopods on the internet...

We picked up halibut at WF’s. Needed something different. Costco has the best wildcaught, fresh smelling, clean. But there’s so many people there. WF’s is always kind of stinky. Anyway, did a rub w salt and pepper, garlic powder, paprika and Parmesan. Air fryer. Spritz of lemon. It wasn’t bad.

“most humans don't speak confidently & coherently about something unless they actually know it” feels like a genuine wildcaught ivory tower statement to me?

Grilled Salmon and zucchini with a wonderful Italian white wine. A little pineapple chutney is perfect. #cooking #food #salmon #fish #grill #seafood #wildcaught #dinner #zucchini

3/4 It is not told from a neutral perspective (like a documentary). It's funded by lobbyists with an agenda. I.e., Ocean is partly funded by Ocean Capital 14, a venture capital group who invests in aquaculture (a competitor to wildcaught fisheries). That's fine, most people have an agenda #OceanChat

makes him worse because mqs species does Not participate in chase style mating and he doesnt have those same instincts and hes made to be strong tailed but not as fast or sleek to dart away with (lowkey imagining him as wildcaught young and brought in, rather than raised alongside dianxia like fx)

Lobster stopped being a poor people food when we started consuming more of it than the environment could sustain and had to scale back harvests.

Beef and salmon are both luxury foods, yes. I'm sorry that material realities mean the entire populace can't be eating wildcaught Alaskan salmon every day

She IS wildcaught, which I'm normally not a fan of doing, but the family of bluejays that's constantly in are yard almost definitely would have got her had Wayward not snatched her up when he did. Been doing my homework on keeping them safe and happy too, she's in good hands.

We don't know exactly how old she is, having been wildcaught, but she's been a fully mature adult since at least June of last year when I recieved her so she's up there in age for a bold jumper for sure. She's still pretty spry for a little old lady.

Don't buy eggs or dairy, become vegetarian and cook everything, including produce. Eat more truly wildcaught fish. Get your immune system strengthened.

Maybe we can find and support independent labs? Or organizations that check the quality of food? CCOF? MSC?

we do just begin to get wildcaught top chickens, I feel

If I'm not mistaken Eva the welcomed preying mantis was a bluesky native & this not the only one

Not the flood of Twitter in the heyday, but not the nothing of yesterday's blue skies

Hot dang..... that's some big-ass crawdads.😜 That looks awesome. I have never had a true, wildcaught, big ass Maine lobster. About all we get around here are the rock lobster, mostly farm raised. I love to split them and grill them.
