My new favorite pastime? Taking bad old art/frames that I was given and turning them into something way more fun (but also pretty dumb). In this case, a gold record for Willips Brighton’s 90’s hit, “Mouthful of Sores.” As seen on Mr. Show with Bob and David. #mrshow #bobodenkirk #willipsbrighton
A scratched up silver frame with some generic brush stroke art, matted with white mat. The same frame from the other picture, but it’s been painted black. And instead of the boring artwork, it now holds a black backdrop with a gold 45 record with artwork atop and a plaque at the bottom. The artwork at the top shows a cartoon drawing of Willips Brighton (as portrayed by Bob Odenkirk on HBO’s 90’s sketch comedy show, Mr. Show) with sores on his mouth, in the clouds singing with sun shining behind him. The top of the art says “Willips Brighton” and at the bottom it says “Mouthful of Sores.” Below that is a gold 45 record for “Mouthful of Sores,” complete with fake credits. And below that is a gold plaque from the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) touting the sale of more than 1,000,000 copies of the “Mouthful of Sores” single.
