At some point #BirdFlu will crack the 1-step evolutionary obstacle to becoming an airborne human virus & potentially the next pandemic. Or recombine with a human virus in farmed pigs or in a human host & achieve the same outcome. Upgrading indoor air quality standards would be a sensible precaution.
UKHSA has confirmed a case of influenza A(H5N1) in a person in the West Midlands. The person acquired the infection on a farm, where they had close and prolonged contact with a large number of infected birds.

We have multiple NHS Trusts declaring critical incidents & severe #WinterPressures already. So far it's mainly circulating amongst children & young people. What do they suppose it will be like in a couple of weeks when it spreads to elderly & vulnerable groups?

The NHS isn't coping. Yes it's mostly #Flu that is driving extreme #WinterPressures this year. 2025 looks set to bring more #Covid waves, that will kill more disabled & vulnerable folks & cripple more kids & workers with #LongCovid. The solutions are the same: Provide #RPE. Sort indoor air quality.
Based on anecdote and my own family experience, I think this is a big flu winter sadly. Hopefully NHS is coping because RSV and Covid are not causing too many additional problems
