It's fast, 100% local, open source, compilable from the GitHub repo, and no subscription fee. Replaced Wisprflow with it and it's just as fast and accurate.

I have started using WisprFlow on iPhone/iPad as well because the dictation is still bad for *me* on iOS 27
The biggest difference as a non-native speaker is I have to be very clear with my words when using the in-built dictation

When I transcribe, I use local models usually based on Whisper without massaging it, but there's scores of products like wisprflow that do precisely this. It's just people trying to write faster.

I tried Gemma 4 awhile back and ended up going with Wisprflow with all the privacy settings enabled. I don’t think the local models you can run with 16 gigs of ram are quite there yet.

I started using WisprFlow for a lot of my typing. To understand how significant and culturally plugged in NAFO is, it recognized what NAFO was immediately. I didn't have to correct it. I didn't have to put it in my dictionary.

I have to say that dictation tools like Wisprflow and Typeless are really good. For me, switching from typing to dictating is much harder than I initialing thought. I kept saying "backspace, backspace." 🤣
