I was rooting for the new high school to adopt wombats as their mascot for alliteration and because a group of wombats is called a wisdom, but now I want them to adopt it for the sheer shock of the size of these things.
In my mind, I picture wombats as badger or possum sized, but they're ... um ... not.

Wombats are herbivores; their diets consist mostly of grasses, sedges, herbs, bark, and roots. Their incisor teeth somewhat resemble those of rodents (rats, mice, etc.), being adapted for gnawing tough vegetation.
