So who was credited with the discovery - her husband? Or another male relative?

#WomenOfScience
Ever heard of Eunice Foote, born today in 1819?

An incredible woman -scientist, inventor, & women's rights campaigner

Significantly, Foote was the first to show that rising CO2 levels could increase atmospheric temperature and affect climate, although rarely credited for this discovery

Why does it matter that we know about women in science? When I was growing up the only female scientist I knew of was Marie Curie. I thought she was the only female scientist. We cannot let another generation grow up with this misconception.
