Filmed at the Woodthorpe in Prestwich, which I shall be driving past tomorrow. Always think of this video when I do.
The Fall's 1987 cover of R. Dean Taylor's Northern Soul hilt "There's a Ghost in My House". Official video. Reached #30 on UK charts. #FallFriday m.youtube.com/watch?v=D0bZ...

John Le Mesurier as Bilbo. Michael Hordern as Gandalf. Simon Cadell as Celeborn, David Collings as Legolas... Peter Woodthorpe a *fantastic* Gollum. And possibly best of all - Stephen Thorne as Treebeard! It's a superb adaptation. One of the all-time best.
And, of course, there *is* a BBC Lord of the Rings - it’s a radio play with Ian Holme as Frodo, which inspired his casting as Bilbo in Peter Jackson’s films, and Bill Nighy as Sam. If you haven’t listened to it, do it now. You won’t regret it, it’s incredible.
The problem is that, should it be made now, it’d be this massive effects laden thing that cost something like £300 million a series, when the reality is that the absolute best version would’ve been made in the late 70’s to mid-80’s, featured a tonne of British character actors and cost £80.

Pre emptive Spoons alert! Woodthorpe Top, Nottingham. Cut above the NAT AVG. Can only assume Bread n Bitter proximity hinders GBG chances. Badly named Ashover on form. Moved away from baby gang. 8.5/10 carpet makes me wanna forage in woodland. Staff a bit drowsy.

Pub 3249, Vale, Woodthorpe, Nottingham. A fine Inventory effort with great 30's art deco curvature and cheeky wood. Denture gang suck down cheesy mash. Barmaid's handpump splutters but hidden Elsie Mo saves the day. Top lass.

It was Peter Woodthorpe for me

Not saying Andy Serkis isn't bloody good, but Peter Woodthorpe showed more stress
