They built a fireproof home in Malibu, survived the 2018 #woolseyfire, but aren't sure they're going to stay. Fabulous story (my gift link)

They Built a Home to Fend Off California Wildfires. But Will They Stay? (Gift Article)
The Vogts designed their Malibu house to withstand disasters. But they were only beginning to learn the mental toll the fires would take on them.

Still think about 4 AM alert for #WoolseyFire 2018. My husband barely out of hospital. Car pre-packed "in case". Nobody in our neighborhood thought it would jump the 101.

At 4 AM the embers danced over us as we drove away. Against all odds our neighborhood was saved. Hugs to all survivors. #fireaid

Our mountains here are ready to burn again my PTSD is thru the roof since losing everything I owned in the WoolseyFire. I feel the same weather pattern building as we had in 2016-17 one year before the Woolsey.

In SoCal we get DROUGHTS from CLIMATE CHANGE causing HUGE FIRES. I'll take a weak shower so that we can have the water reservoirs filled RATHER THAN DUMPED and can put out fires like #palisadesfire & #woolseyfire BOTH OF WHICH ALMOST BURNED MY HOME DOWN.

Fuck you and your"weak shower" whining!
Duffy: "The president is talking about shower heads. You don't have enough water that can come through your shower heads because of Biden's regulations. So fixing small things like that -- hopefully he's gonna get the dishwashers. Wouldn't it be great if dishwashers worked again?"

Ridiculous fear mongering. Don't get me wrong, the #PalisadesFire and #EatonFire are devastating, but apparently everyone has forgotten about the #WoolseyFire and the #SepulvedaBasinFire that nearly took down The Getty.

Stay safe. Follow evacuation orders as soon as you get them. DON'T PANIC.

Stinging.
(FWIW, the West Coast side of my family spent last week evacuated from the @WoolseyFire, and are now thankfully at home again.)

After watching Georgia thump Auburn and *not* getting incinerated in the #WoolseyFire, is it greedy for me to complain I can’t watch the #UAB game

I am so deeply indebted to the incredible firefighters who literally saved our house during the #WoolseyFire. My parents are safe. Below is video from our neighbors of our yard catching on fire - we are so very lucky that firefighters were there to put it out.

My heart is breaking over the loss of life, homes, irreplaceable sentimental items due to the #WoolseyFire. Be thankful for what we have. It could be gone in an instant. Sending Love.

#WoolseyFire smoke report from #Pasadena: this AM - barely noticeable, some discoloration of the horizon sky; this afternoon - the odor, in trace amounts, arrives and the sunshine has a yellowish tint; now - hazy sunset, stronger smell, burning eyes.

THE #WOOLSEYFIRE STARTED AT THE SITE OF A NUCLEAR DISASTER.
PLUTONIUM IS PYROPHORIC: IT NATURALLY REDUCES ITSELF TO POWDER AND LIKES TO SPONTANEOUSLY COMBUST.

https://t.co/54L4mThqzB The fire started not near but ON the old Santa Susana Nuclear Site, which suffered possibly the largest meltdown in our history. https://t.co/taulWnPS7F #WoolseyFire #woolsey #SimiValley #SantaSusanna
