#woolworkers
okay so Veronica and Lucy of Syracuse are weaving and sewing, Mary Mags is lace-making and Clare of Assisi is needlework. Blaise is woolworkers, but only bc he was tortured with wool combs 😬

best modern knitter vibe imo is actually Gertrude of Nivelles: abbess, introvert, patron of gardeners & cats
It breaks my brain that arms manufacturers have been assigned a patron saint, but last I checked there isn't one for knitters. St. Anne often comes up, but it's not official.
two guys whose departments are out of control, recommend calling and asking to speak to their manager:

MATTHEW THE APOSTLE: patron saint of security guards, anything related to wealth/taxes/currency, and Washington DC

JOHN THE APOSTLE: patron saint of arms manufacturers and government officials

All us #WoolWorkers / #YarnWorkers have insisted for some time that it was either to make socks, or for managing multiple threads. However, #Pythagoras is more plausible!!
My Roman historian friend, Guy de la Bedoyere (Time Team buds), may have finally cracked the riddle of the Roman dodecahedra!!!

I know there’s another saint killed this way, because he became the patron saint of woolworkers. There was even a company that made wool combs called Saint Blaise, but I think they’re now defunct.
