It's a dry run for the more infamous Threshold as Crusher accidentally creates a virus that de-evolves the entire crew and causes Worf to eat people. All whilst treating Barclay for a SPACE rash.

Maybe command is more her calling after all.

"Thinking about what you cannot control only wastes energy, and creates its own enemy." - Lt. Commander Worf

(had to learn this lesson the hard way these past few years)

“Thinking about what you can’t control only wastes energy and creates its own enemy.” - Worf, son of Mogh

“Cost of Living” creates what could be an interesting dynamic between Lwaxana and Alexander and provides Majel Barrett some very poignant moments to play. I wish there were more emotional, meaningful payoffs for Worf and Deanna’s perspectives. Tonally too cloying for me.

Score: 1.5/5

I was watching TNG season 1 where Q gives Riker powers so Riker creates a mate for Worf. But many such instances throughout the franchise

Worf: creates a disappointing son who lacks honor

ST:TNG ‘Elementary, Dear Data’. Nightmare for Bluesky: an AI regurgitates a slop pastiche of Conan-Doyle and creates another AI, provoked by yet another AI. Created AI dies before anyone’s had time to rope their nan into a protest group. Meanwhile a boomer denigrates the whole thing.

I have my head cannon about Worf and the mug:
"Prune Juice. Replicator creates mug of prune juice w/ Quark logo on it. Worf lets out a low-key annoyed grunt. Starts to drink and hears the jingle. Is confused.

Watching the Star Trek TNG episode "Elementary, Dear Data" where Geordi asks the computer creates an adversary that can defeat Data and Worf sees a subsequent power surge on the bridge, and all I could think about is that Geordi is the original jailbreak prompt engineer.

It creates a sense of a metaphysical self-dialogue, which of course IS what's actually happening.

Note that Bashir and Worf have entirely disappeared from the proceedings. You don't miss them. They were just there to assure the audience this isn't time-travel, not a hoax, not an imaginary story...

thinking about the TNG comic series that was written and inked before a single episode had aired, they likely just had promo pre-release material to work from, real "show bible" type stuff

so, this creates a Season 1 AU where everyone is buff n ripped like a super hero and uhhh im v fine with that

so far, Season 4 of DS9 is the best.

Quark, Nog, and Rom go back in time?

Secret Agent Bashir, Julian Bashir

Worf

The rejoined one is weird cause it creates a lot of Trill plot holes, and paints their society as even dumber
