If you’re looking for a fun but morally horrifying holiday project, I can say from experience that Xmodem over WebRTC is, technically, quite possible. The next step, obviously, is implementing WebBBSs with RESTful doors.

Ward Christenson, co-inventor of the BBS and developer of XModem, has died. I used his creations a lot back in the day.
Long time fan of iTerm, and probably won't change my workflow, this does look interesting as an alternative.
