It also supports the Raphnet SNES-to-USB adapter. This was my original goal, and you can use Xpadder 5.6 (last W98 build?) to map it to keyboard controls. But if it's a two port adapter, it's a 50/50 shot which port it decides to latch on to.

For those among you about to play Dragon Age 2

(You can ofc. more or less replicate this with any controller mapping software like xpadder but I really like reWASD for a couple reasons, one of which is this nice layout view.)

Messed around and created the best DA2 controller config ever if you even care www.rewasd.com/community/co...

(I figure it's easiest to actually download the config but please let me know if you need a text description for the pics.)

My Jank art setup: A PS4 controller/Xpadder for my hotkeys and......TIME CRISIS 4!?....(this is not a bit, this is real, and yes it's a complete box with everything in it still XD)

Lots of my mutuals liking this. Here's a few things you need to know. there is NO NATIVE CONTROLLER SUPPORT. none. you're gonna need joytokey (as they recommend in the readme) or XPadder. ether-way such a pain for a unity game that could easily support it. it also only supports 256x224 resolution...
THIS IS NOT A DRILL

Donkey Kong Land got a remake! Kazquez remade all the DKL levels with new sprites, music and level design while still feeling really familiar with the source material.

I have a spare joycon that runs through xpadder to access all my shortcuts

because the game doesn't support controller, I set up an xpadder profile for it, and because mashing a trigger repeatedly isn't good on controller, I have a macro set to let me turbo click instead.

I also like to reel in with that turbo because my kitty just

twitches,

sporadically.

Não, é gambiarra com o xpadder

Just to add, steam input isn't just for valve's own ontrollers
It supports joy cons, dualsense, and other proprietary contorllers
Not to mention the ability to remap generic gamepads (because who genuinely misses using xpadder)

I use Xpadder for everything that doesn't accept controllers!

People today still use Xpadder and i think thats pretty neat

I finally figured it out.
It was some nonsense related to XPadder, which I was using to map my handheld controller buttons to navigate menus. I disabled that and my issue went away.
I've been working on this issue for so long. I can't believe it was something so stupid.

I decided to use xpadder to map my gulikit kong 2 pro controller

for a long time it didn't feel viable ( I did try before) but I figured out how to position it and program it so that I have comfortable button functionality. (I just prop it btwn my tummy and the tablet)

As for the controller part, you're in luck! Most modern games have controller support now so its as easy as plugging in an Xbox/ps4-5 controller and it'll just work. Gone are the days of Xpadder and button mapping!

I've been playing some Newgrounds Rumble with an old friend of mine through Parsec (with me using of course Xpadder since you can't rebind to controllers) and we had a blast, it was fun trying out all of the different characters, awesome job Negativeone, @mindchamber.bsky.social, Evil-Dog & Luis! 💛

Existem várias programas, como XOutpout, x360ce, joytokey, Xpadder, etc... Olha no YouTube o que se encaixa melhor no seu caso.

Plug-and-play with current generation controllers is one standard.
The other would be an open-ended friendliness to profilers (JoyToKey, XPadder, etc).
March 15, 2026 at 1:42 PM
No, but it’s stupid easy to do it yourself with Xpadder.

It’s literally the only way I’ve played it since I started playing back in like 2016.

Blood omen is really good story wise, but the game is semi outdated imo, I use xpadder to reconfig the controller for pc but still had a good time with it 🥰 the soul reaver saga is worth it, hope it will not be a warcraft 3 reforge scenario 😱🥲
November 21, 2024 at 3:27 PM
There's nothing you need to add to a Windows game to make it controller-compatible. Profilers like JoyToKey and XPadder have universal value.
The only reason it doesn't feel like that is because developers (often unintentionally) add generic controller code that gets in the way.
March 29, 2026 at 7:13 PM
Yeah, I'm generally glad that controllers mostly work these days without needing xpadder or some "we swear we're not malware" type of driver. No luck with messing with Steam controller settings at all, or does that just make things worse?

GoG.com just added one of my favourite platform games to their preservation program, so I updated my old guide to reflect this. I still like to use Xpadder when playing it for the most 'console like' experience - retrorenew.net/news/sands-o...

there's universal software that should work

xpadder is a little windows tool that lets you map keyboard/mouse events, and save profiles, with a nice GUI- i think it's demoware? but not that expensive

there's also joy2key, which is free, but is used by writing scripts instead of fiddling with a GUI
May 16, 2025 at 7:51 PM
I'm sure you've looked for all of this, but my first thing to check in that case would be if any other software is duplicating your inputs. Xpadder, Rewasd, DS4windows -- all of that stuff should be disabled and frankly uninstalled. If that doesn't apply in your case, then I'm not sure.

I've been using an input remapper called reWASD for a few years, and it's become an integral part of my gaming arsenal.

I also tried to set up my racing wheel to play it with but ultimately the gamepad controls feel so much better

probably cause i had to do some jank xpadder setup with my wheel instead of just using the wheel itself cause it's ancient and incompatible with everything
